Workforce Development

GOAL: We will promote educational excellence through targeting improvements in primary and higher education, as well as training and support programs in an effort to develop a 21st Century workforce.

Key Initiatives:

Enhance parent and community education and involvement in student learning by:

  • increasing the number of Mpact volunteers at each school by 10% and
  • involving the Partners in Education in a minimum of two projects at each school-site

Promote educational enrichment opportunities and services offered in our community partnership with the Certified Literacy Community Program Alliance and the Baldwin County Literacy Team by:

  • hosting a conducting a literacy fair to showcase available resources and local support agencies
  • publishing a printed educational resource guide containing information about area schools, childcare, and learning opportunities
  • developing  a companion website linked to the Baldwin County School District’s website and other area websites providing up-to-date information on available programs, events, and opportunities available to enrich and support student learning

Support Communities in Schools site Coordinator at Baldwin High School in order to prepare students for college and career readiness while working to improve retention of our educated workforce through:

  • graduation coaching
  • college/career guidance
  • scholarship and grant identification assistance
  • peer and adult mentoring
