Each year, the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce recognizes excellence in its small business community by awarding the Small Business of the Year Award to a deserving recipient. This year, we continue that tradition while also recognizing a Large Business of the Year. The award will be renamed “Outstanding Business of the Year,” with two recipients (Small and Large). Legal entities (LLC, Corporation, Sole Proprietor, etc.) with 50 or fewer full-time employees are eligible as a Small Business, those with 51 or more employees are eligible as a Large Business. Candidates may self-nominate or be nominated by others. The Chamber will contact the nominees to obtain additional information for the competition. The nomination deadline is May 2nd, 2025.
To be eligible for consideration, the business must meet the following criteria:

- In business & a Chamber member for at least three consecutive years
- Not a finalist in the past year, or a winner in the past three years
- Sales growth/profit growth/new product line/expanding number of employees
- Reflects the Chamber’s Strategic Objectives (Talent and Workforce Development, Network and Business Development, Advocacy, and Organizational Excellence)
- Outstanding community contribution or involvement
- Privately-owned, for-profit entity
